Walter & Willow présente des photographies tirées d’une archive photographique ayant appartenu à la famille de l’artiste Aislinn Leggett, et plus particulièrement à son grand-oncle et sa grand-tante décédés il y a plusieurs années. Les images de cette archive présentent les moments forts et parfois plus discrets des voyages que ces derniers entreprirent pendant les années soixante-dix et au tournant des années quatre-vingt. Invitée à répondre par l’écriture à ce travail d’appropriation, l’auteur et artiste Anne-Marie Proulx propose des Instantanés, de courts textes donnant des voix aux personnages qui apparaissent dans les images. En cultivant un léger décalage entre le regard amateur de certaines images et le ton introspectif qu’elle entretient, Anne-Marie Proulx préserve une sorte de mystère poétique jusqu’à la fin.
EN -> Walter & Willow presents photographs from a photographic archive that belonged to the family of the artist Aislinn Leggett, specifically her great-uncle and great-aunt who died several years ago. The images present the highlights and more discreet moments of the journeys they undertook during the 1970s and early 1980s. Invited to respond with writing to this work of appropriation, the author and artist Anne-Marie Proulx proposes what she calls les instantanés, short texts giving voices to the characters who appear in the images. By cultivating a slight disconnection between the amateur gaze of certain images and the introspective tone she maintains, Proulx preserves a kind of poetic mystery to the very end.
